Because of recent studies that have shown the dangerous effects of PVC to
children and the environment, our meal-time accessories are free of PVC,
Phthalates, Lead, and Cadmium.  Currently, there are no requirements for companies
to state what materials are used in their laminations or coatings.  Most plastics
and laminations are not PVC, Phthalate, Lead and/or Cadmium free unless
otherwise stated or specified.  To learn more about the dangers of PVC, please
see the articles and links below.

The dangers of lead in vinyl:
"..Lead stabilizers are released when they are formulated, used and disposed. "Potential
lead releases from .. PVC must be viewed as a major potential health hazard". Unfortunately
the safer alternatives to lead plasticizers are often more expensive and are not widely used
in manufacture. Most of the PVC is not made in the U.S. and is not as well regulated as it
might be in the U.S. There are many articles available that discuss the need to remove lead
as a plasticizer from PVC.    ..."

PVC is harmful to the environment:
There is no other plastic that poses such direct environmental and human health risks as
